Celebrate small-town summer fun during Tampico Days 2026, happening July 16–19 in Tampico — the hometown of President Ronald Reagan. This longtime community festival fills the village with live music, family activities, food, games, fireworks, and hometown traditions all weekend long.
Festival activities kick off Thursday evening with community bingo, a Paint the Town activity along Main Street, and a youth dance. Friday features tours of the Ronald Reagan Birthplace Museum, live music at the Tampico Ball Diamonds, food and drinks, and a dusk fireworks show to cap off the evening.
Saturday’s lineup is packed with classic festival fun, including a home run derby, car cruise-in, old-school track and field games, chicken drop bingo, kids water fights, ZOWA wrestling, and a beer garden with live music downtown. Sunday continues the celebration with a pancake breakfast, Touch-a-Truck activities, artisan and farmers market vendors, a parade through Tampico, petting zoo, kiddie fun run, fishing derby awards, bags tournament, and an old-fashioned ice cream social.
Visitors can also explore the Ronald Reagan Birthplace during scheduled tour hours throughout the weekend. From fireworks and live entertainment to quirky small-town traditions and family-friendly fun, Tampico Days offers a full weekend of classic summer festival energy in one of Northwest Illinois’ most historic small towns.
