Details
Originally constructed in 1924 for vaudeville and stage performances, the Sterling Theater suffered partial destruction from fire on July 9, 1943. It was rebuilt in an Art Moderne style designed by architect John R. McLane and opened on September 28, 1944. One of the features of the rebuilt Sterling Theater was a lighted tower, which became a beacon for entertainment in downtown Sterling.
Renovated & Refreshed
In 2013, the Greater Sterling Development Corporation acquired and renovated the theater in a collaborative civic effort. Under an independent theater management group, Sterling Theater’s tower is lit again.
This brew-and-view theater features two screens. It serves beer and wine, non-alcoholic beverages, movie staples such as nachos and popcorn, pizza, small appetizers, and Chicago-style hot dogs. Cabaret-style seating and your favorite food and beverage make this a truly unique theater experience.
