The Franklin Creek Grist Mill and Interpretive Center is a reconstructed timber-frame, four-story 1847 grist mill located within the Franklin Creek State Natural Area.

At the Mill, you can watch the four-ton waterwheel power pulleys and gears to turn the four-ton millstone to grind corn like in the 1800s. Other displays include milling equipment, 43 panels from native Illinois trees, fossil viewing in stone walls, and a self-guided interpretive trail. The facility is wheelchair accessible. Go to the website for more information.
