Bring the family to this year's Dixon Petunia Festival, running June 30 through July 4. There are many family-friendly events throughout the downtown/riverfront area. The carnival takes place west of the Peoria Ave. bridge, in the high school area.
The Dixon Riverfront hosts multiple bands on multiple evenings. On July 1, the Dixon Municipal band performs patriotic songs on the Old Lee County Courthouse lawn. Before that performance, there will be an old-fashioned ice cream social at the same location. On Sat., July 2, the "Nuts About Art" outdoor art show takes place at John Dixon Park, located at 515 N. Galena Ave.

Find parking early. The fireworks go off at the Dixon Riverfront, starting at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 3. The parade is earlier in the day, starting at 1 p.m.
