George Fest is a fun family festival celebrating everything “Chicken George,” the beloved & famous fried chicken tenders entree of the Candlelight Inn in Sterling and Rock Falls.

It will be held on July 26, 2025, at the RB&W District of Rock Falls, IL. The fun will include family-friendly entertainment, a Chicken George eating contest, live music, and much more!

Live Music downtown on West 2nd Street – From Nashville, TN🎸The Royal Hounds and Jutt Huffman will take the stage in downtown Rock Falls as part of the biggest block party of the year! Stay tuned for all things George Fest.

What is Chicken George?

It’s the Candlelight Inn’s fresh, famous chicken tenders (also known as chicken strips or chicken fingers), hand-battered and deep-fried to perfection, served with their house special, Jan’s sauce. Named after Candlelight Inn founder Bob Prescott’s wife, Jan’s sauce is a vinegar- and mayonnaise-based sauce, but the recipe is top secret!
