Art in the Park Sculpture Walk

It's Year 2!

On Sept. 7, 2-7 pm, the City of Rock Falls welcomes a new set of sculptures to the RB&W Park. 2018 was the inaugural Sculpture Walk and proved to be a very popular event.

New this year, Art in the Park expands to include any and all forms of local art to be displayed. Visitors will be able to stroll through the park, participate in activities, enjoy some music, and take in the sites of the event. There will be food, wine, beer, and interactive displays.

Not only will there be new sculptures, the park will also be a showcase for talented local artists who work in many other mediums and have a variety of work to show, such as painting, charcoal, watercolor, ceramics, drawings, photography, and beautiful woodworking. Smoked on 3rd – BBQ Bistro and Catering will be providing gourmet yet affordable food options, beer, and wine for purchase.

This is a big night for the Nemesis sculpture by artist Gregory Mendez, as she will be officially dedicated to the city by Mayor Wescott, as will Apparition Schmoosh which was so generously donated by artist Charles Yost.

Art in the Park Sculpture Walk is also currently featured on the Otocast app for smart phones. Look for the app in your Apple or Google Play store. The app features a map of the sculptures, artist bios, sculpture information, and an audio component to get a firsthand account from the artists themselves.

Take a stroll through the outdoor art gallery, enjoy some food, sip on some wine, and meet the artists as the music sets the mood. We are looking forward to seeing you all down at the park.
