LIVE MUSIC | Carefree Highwaymen | Savanna

Do you enjoy the music of Gordon Lightfoot and James Taylor?
If so, you won’t want to miss this month’s “Music at the Museum” concert. It features The Carefree Highwaymen, a band consisting of: Bernie Calkins, bass guitar and vocals, Dave Killinger, guitar and vocals, and Kevin Hamilton, lead guitar and vocals. These talented musicians have been together as a band for 10 years and have known each other and played in variations of bands in the Quad City music scene, for 40 years.
Kevin Hamilton started his musical career playing in Savanna as a solo act, eventually joining Starfire and Argyle Schlocky. He has played in the Mason Bros. Band and along with Charlie Mason and sister Cathy, has performed at the popular Fireman’s Balls with Savanna’s own famous Roadrunners.
The Carefree Highwaymen have developed a strong following up and down the Mississippi River. Their repertoire has a wealth of Gordon Lightfoot material as well as many acoustic based songs.
