A little about the team

The Oregon Ganymedes Vintage Base Ball Club is an all-volunteer educational outreach program of the Chana School Museum. This club has been playing vintage rules base ball* games from the years 1858 through 1867 against other vintage clubs from all over the Midwest since 2005.

*The team plays 1858 rules base ball (it was two words then) wearing authentic uniforms of the time against other vintage teams representing historic small towns and museums all over Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Missouri, and beyond.

The Oregon team takes its name from the historic Ganymede’s Spring which was named by the famous Margaret Fuller in 1840 and became a tourist destination for people visiting the Oregon area for generations.
