Celebrate the official opening of the Larry Dunphy Storybook Trail at Franklin Creek State Natural Area

Sunday, October 17th ~ 1-5 pm
Please join us for a day of family fun and celebration as FCCA hosts its GRAND OPENING and dedication of Franklin Creek's newest trail, the Larry Dunphy Memorial Storybook Trail.  The new Storybook Trail features the children’s book Miss Maple’s Seeds and is installed along the trail near the Hausen-Knox Shelter. Each panel displays a page from the book.

Children's activities take place from 1-4 pm and will include planting seeds, creating bird feeders, scavenger hunts, a reading of the trail's featured story, and more!

In honor of the late Larry Dunphy, owner of Books on First

From 4-5 pm a dedication and celebration of life will be held for our dear friend and beloved local champion of nature and literacy, Larry Dunphy. Please bring your favorite memories of Larry to share with all.

The event is FREE and no registration is required. Light refreshments will be available.

We will be following State and CDC guidelines for mask-wearing and social distancing at the time of the event.

Franklin Creek Conservation Association is a non-profit that exists for the care of the natural areas of Franklin Creek for current and future generations by striving to preserve, restore, and maintain those areas; involve individuals and organizations in Our common purpose and activity; build knowledge and appreciation of the natural area and our cultural heritage.
