Binding Our State Together

On Sat, Aug 17th at 2pm Dr Norm Moline, Professor Emeritus from Augustana College, will give a presentation entitled, Binding Our State Together. His presentation will explain how over 200 years, the changes brought by the Canals, Railroads, Postal Service, and improved roads also changed our territory from a sparsely and minimally connected area to a place linked with other communities and regions.

Changes in personal mobility after the arrival of the automobile and good roads changed the character of towns and the citizens who lived there.

Presented in co-operation with the Illinois Humanities Council, the program is free and open to all audiences but donations are always gratefully accepted.
