49th Autumn on Parade
OCT. 5-6 | OREGON, IL
Join us for the 49th Autumn on Parade festival Oct. 5-6 in scenic Oregon, Illinois. This year's theme is "A Salute to the Black Hawk Statue."
Farmer's Market Craft Fair on the square
The heart of Autumn on Parade is its Farmer's Market and Craft Fair, located on the historic Ogle County Courthouse Square in downtown Oregon where more than 175+ craft booths surround the 125-year-old Ogle County Courthouse. The booths offer handmade, homemade and homegrown items as well as many other kinds of goodies.
On Saturday, antique tractors and classic cars will be on display at Oregon Park East, just across the Rock River. Owners of Olivers, Farmalls, and Deeres are more than willing to share the history of their tractors and visitors won’t want to miss The Focus House Car Show.
Visitors can also tour the Chana School on Saturday, also located at Park East. This unique two-room school, built in 1883, is celebrating its 134th birthday this year. Lunch will also be available on site.
On Saturday, kids and adults can take part in the Donut Eating Contest near the courthouse square where there will also be live entertainment.
On both days, the Fun Zone, located just north of the Courthouse Square, offers a place for kids to burn off some energy. Admission provides all-day use.
Hungry? Don't forget to stop by the Food Court, which includes a variety of choices from booths run by local not-for-profit organizations.
Visit the Renaissance: Olde English Faire
During the first weekend in October, Stronghold transforms itself from a modern retreat and meeting facility to the site of the Olde English Faire. It's located about 2 miles north of Oregon on IL Route 2 at 1922 Illinois Rt 2 N, Oregon, IL.
Wandering players perform both onstage and off as crafters and merchants display their wares. Minstrels fill the pathways and stages with melodies while children gather in the Gremlin's Garden for stories and other children's activities. These and many more delights await you at the Olde English Faire!
Tours of the Stronghold Castle will be available.
The revelry of the faire shall occur from 9-5 p.m. The Faire shall conclude at 5:30 pm.
Admission is charged for this event.
5K and the Harvest Time Parade on Sunday
Sunday morning starts with a 5K race and a one-mile fun run and at 1 p.m. the Harvest Time Parade, featuring 100-plus units, makes its way through the downtown and past the courthouse square. The Jesse White Tumblers and South Shore Drill Team are just two of the crowd favorites returning this year.
And here’s the best part—with the exception of the Olde English Faire, Fun Zone, and 5K there is no admission charge for our events.
Saturday visitors to Oregon's Autumn on Parade festival will find it easy to get to all the festival attractions by buying a wristband for $2 and riding the festival's shuttles. Wristbands allow visitors unlimited shuttle access. The shuttle to Stronghold's Olde English Faire, located north of Oregon, and the Auto and Tractor Classic and Chana School, located at Oregon Park East, will operate on a regular schedule (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) departing from the United Realty Company of Illinois parking lot at the intersection of Ill. 2 and Ill. 64. Children under five will be allowed free transportation with parents.
Make sure you check arrival and departure times at each venue and at the Shuttle Center.
