National Straw Sculpting Competition

Straw Sculpting artists from all over

From Aug. 7-23, the historic Mt Morris campus is the location for the 5th annual US National Straw Sculpting Competition. This annual event showcases a variety of giant straw sculptures located around the downtown square.

Pandemic Modifications

The 2020 version has been modified due to the pandemic and the annual Straw Fest has been cancelled but all the straw sculptures have been placed to accomodate social distancing.

The annual US National Straw Sculpting Competition showcases a variety of giant straw sculptures that are an exciting presentation of fine art in straw. The competition is judged by everyone who visits, because they can submit a virtual vote for ‘Peoples Choice’ by going online to the website.
