Day 1 – Oregon, Dixon

The first stop on your chocolate adventure is Conover Square in Oregon; spend time wondering through its many distinctive shops. Built in 1893, home of the Schiller Piano Factory, Conover Square now features two floors of specialty shops.

Next stop enjoy lunch at Hazel’s Cafe’, among the chocolate truffles, caramels, and chocolate covered coffee beans, you’ll find one very rare and extraordinary ingredient – their 100% pure chocolate passion. Additional chocolate indulgences include gourmet blends of coffees, teas & smoothies muffins and scones.

Travel a short distance to Oregon Soap Shoppe; here the CHOCOLATE GOODIES have some very important features! After a day of shopping, head south enjoying the scenic view of the Rock River as you travel south to Dixon. Arrive and check in at the Comfort Inn of Dixon and they will provide the chocolate lover with a variety of chocolate treats in your room upon arrival.

After checking in, return to Dixon’s historic downtown and dine in one of Dixon’s many restaurants and stroll the new River Front enjoying beautifully paved walks with a view of the Rock River.

Return to hotel.

Day 2 –Mt Morris and Rochelle

After a refreshing night sleep and breakfast, visit the many unique shops Dixon has to offer, including Baker’s Street for tempting scones, muffins, specialty cakes and coffees. Be sure to stop in Dixon’s Welcome Center. While there you can shop for unique Dixon gifts.

Continue your trip 15 min north to the *White Pines Resort located within the beautiful White Pines Forest State Park. Enjoy a delicious lunch while you relax and enjoy a live theater production in the rustic historic lodge. Make sure you save room for chocolate cobbler or chocolate covered ice cream dessert. Chocolate lovers will delight in the gift shop’s assorted chocolates, truffles and myrtles. As you head home your last stop is Colonial Flowers & Gifts in Rochelle.
